  • Great Job πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ“πŸͺšπŸ”¨

  • @27:23 "in this Pacific brand of flooring"
That's cool I never heard of Pacific Flooring…
    Jk
Thanks for sharing the trade secrets with the general homeowner on a public platform. You're only taking jobs away from hard-working people trying to feed their families, no biggie

  • So disappointed. I watched the entire video to see how to transition to the raised fireplace hearth and he never went back and showed that even after saying he would.

  • thank you for the info but you advertise this to "beginners" you really should be using safer tool handling methods.

  • I do every rip on a table saw. Cross, grain and plung I don’t ever use a jigsaw on floors it’s too slow. Also less likely to get a straight cut

  • Awe the start of a flooring job when you actually wear a pouch. Give it an hour and tools are on floor all over

  • Is this guy laying laminate flooring or building a house ffs….

  • This guy says you don't need many tools then adds about 6 more tools that a lot of people don't have

  • Our floor is 165 inches, or plank is 6" wide. So 27.5 planks how do i even planks out so add not to have weird sizes in the beginning and end rows?

  • Tip #10 get a clear hose the length of your longest room. Fill it about 3/4 full of water with food coloring, and after sealing the ends you now have a floor checker. Simply rolling it across the floor will allow you to find uneven floor spots, especially in slabs.

  • Using a clear hose filled with colored water 1/2 way will also help find bird baths and uneven floor areas.

  • Well done! I especially appreciated the volume adjustments made in post production so I wasn't blasted by the compressor or miter saw kicking on. Good tip about the backer rod as well!

  • Seriously, if you don't pay attention to any other valuable tip in this video DO pay attention to the knee pad one. For the love of your knees, please.

  • Great video. Really hit all the important things that I needed to know. Thanks! πŸ‘

  • When you get into a room and you have a closet tickles back the other direction can you lay the material backwards going the opposite direction if you get to that point

  • The backer rod tip was genius not only to keep the warranty but I used the idea as I was installing the floor to be a stop on the wall. My drywall has a gap between the it and the subfloor which made it very difficult to keep the spacers from sliding underneath the drywall when pushing against it. Thank you!

  • This guy is doing no harm. But. If you want top-notch instruction. Go and look up Joe. So that's how you do that. Joe also will take what you send him and tell you where you should start. Joe is the real deal. His vids show you how to make the complicated simple.

  • What about using a coloured laminate flooring mastic around the marble fireplace instead of the transition bead. I personally would use masking tape on the laminate board and marble to get a neat finish on the mastic finish as I am not skilled at mastic joints.

  • This was very informational. I learned so much. I feel confident starting my flooring

  • 7 minuites in and still not put any down yet πŸ™„πŸ™„

  • I set up my mitre saw on a table inside a Wagner spray panting tent/booth. These have a capability for putting a fan and filter in the back of the tent. This made for almost zero saw dust inside the room. You make a lot of noxious saw dust cutting this stuff.

  • Is it normal for an installer to install the baseboard first? If so, would an installer always use 1/4 round to finish floor if the baseboard is installed prior to the flooring going down?

  • In my house on the 2nd floor, I want to remove carpet and put laminate floor.. in my house, the stairs are hardwood so how to determine the accurate height of the laminate plank as it should flush with stairs starting(first one from 2nd floor ) step?

  • Safety is paramount when doing any sawing. Laminate flooring has wood fibers as part of it's construction, and sawdust is a known carcinogen. Also, formaldehyde is in many laminates; another carcinogen. A mask should be worn when cutting laminate with a saw.

  • My subfloor is 2 x 12 on 24" centers but the subfloor is 1.0"+. Does that seem okay?

  • Great video and tips. About to try my hand at it for the first time. I see it's a little more required than I had anticipated and I see I need specific tools to do the installation right. I have to go around a fireplace too, wish you had shown how you finish for that transition.
