  • Only those that "enjoy" boondocking and not being mentally chained to using RV campground/RV resorts will have no problem finding a campsite out there in "legal" use areas. If you can't go a week without a hot shower, you're going to have a problem out there. Learn to simplify your living style and minimize what you want VS WHAT YOU "ACTUALLY NEED".

  • My hubby and I have been planning for years to go RV lifestyle when he retires. We already camp when we can, but we've had a tent when the kids were young. Our last one is 16 and the hubby retires in 4 years. Perfect timing to scoop up a good price on a used RV. We're still looking forward to it.

  • The decline in camp space availability began as far back as, at minimum, 2004.

  • There's an explosion of people getting RVs!! And there's an explosion of people buying houses!! And also everyone is dying of COVID!! Errrr, hmmmm, some math doesn't seem to be adding up…. O_o What is even going on?

  • Could you please wear some make-up next time? Thank you.

  • It's the Cows , Cult of Woke Snobs , that are giving up … Thank God !

  • We saw this coming. We had done research and saving for years to get our trailer. Found "the one" super deal 4 months after the "C" hit. I am thinking with the gas prices ($6/gal where I live) it could go either way. People are going to sell off their RV's or they are going to stay LONGER at their camp sites.

  • another thing I'm curious about , is how you get mail or deliveries when on the road. also , presciptions?

  • A rash of buying for the for a place to go during the pandemic we got a lot of people selling trailers around here but I know why because I watched them by their first new one and now they're selling it because well they can go other places about the video make great videos full of great content with personalities that can't be beat and you don't need clickbait!

  • Here we are in March 2022 and gasoline prices are skyrocketing due to the Ukrainian crisis with its attendant price gouging at the pump. To date, citizens of Portland, Oregon are now paying $6.29 per gallon of gas to fuel their automobiles, with economists projecting higher prices than that. RV's, being heavier vehicles, consume much more petrol than cars, thereby putting a painful crimp in the budget of RV owners. Many will quit this lifestyle solely because such mode of travel is becoming increasingly unaffordable.

  • Good Maybe I can get a better rig Because I have always enjoyed RV’ing

  • RVs are way behind on new technologies. Why are you still dumping black water when incinerator septic is better for the planet and easier on the humans. Every single newer RV should be insulated and running off solar or hydro electric. If RVs were built for camping outside of campgrounds.

  • Anywhere that we wanted to camp (and we’ve been camping since we were kids in the 70’s) has always required a reservation months in advance. This is nothing new.

  • Cost of fuel, inflation for everything is spiking. Only good for people with a decent income and savings.

  • Yes , people are leaving, people have killed the spirit of camping its sad

  • Why are RVers giving up the RV life? Simple. The YouTube market is saturated with videos. Nobody is making money on viewers dimes anymore. Simple economics. Prove me wrong.

  • It is not just RV with issues … but tent campers and off-grid cabins have many issues too … It seems that the gov doesn't like it when people save money …. so then they impose a homeless tax … LOL

  • Actually, to even get into the best State campgrounds in Michigan over 60years ago you had to wait in line all night in hopes of getting any available sites.

  • The best State and National Campgrounds you have to book the first day the booking site is opened.

  • I’ve grown up around life on the road. The big change has been in the last ten years. This is truly nothing super new. Mobile life has a huge attrition rate. People just talk about EVERYTHING in public now.

  • I don’t buy any of this. They will build camping areas as they’re needed. Just like homes. Go buy your RV and get out there.

  • We have seen this starting to happen years ago. This is our 22nd year. The first 5 years of RV'ing we just drove to one of three of our favorite places to go and got a site. That started to go away and never got better. When COVID hit and people realized that a self-contained unit would let them get away, that was the nail in the coffin for affordable prices as well. It got nuts!

  • Just bought a Rekon 4×4 which allows for prolonged boondocking……this topic doesn’t impact us at all

  • $5.00-$6.00 a gallon may keep people closer to their home, curious 🤨 how this will turn out.

  • So that tells you that there's a great business opportunity for Campsites. Australia is really well set up for this with a lot of free camp sites right on the beach. I know where I'd rather be.

  • Finding a spot to camp is generally getting much more difficult. Just one more example how overpopulation is at the root of so many problems.

  • Terrible video. 1st off many people with RVs hate RV camp sites and refuse to use them. People with RVs don't have to use RV camp sites. With an RV you can camp off the grid. There are numerous Parks that have open land without RV hook ups where people can camp with their RVs. Also many people urban camp with their RVs. Yes you can go to a public park and at the end of the day urban park and sleep in your RV. Also just because the number of families with RVs is 11 million a lot of people with RVs do not even use it every year. My father in law goes years without using his and when he uses it he camps in a public parking lot and he has never been bothered by anyone.

  • Now you all know what truckers have been dealing with, lack of parking spaces and amenities. Yet the government keeps making it harder on truckers.

  • With more and more people getting into RVing, making their money online, is why.
Personally, if I was making money online…..I'm going to a Caribbean island 🌴🌴

  • I hope a mass exodus is coming! My current issues are: 1) Prices are sky high, I am not sure I will able to afford replacing my RV when it wears out in a few years. 2) The people camping are not as nice. EVERYONE used to be so awesome at campgrounds, I am finding too many people who are miserable or walk around like the campground is their private resort, they have no courtesy (cutting through campsites, staying up to 2 am playing music, leaving trash around, extra traffic for kids to avoid from grubhub and food delivery drivers to RV parks, etc…) 3) Yes, agree that if you are not getting your reservations in months ahead of time, it is hard to get them.

  • Very good information. Thank you. If you're ever in the Central Florida area give me a ring, Ellen and I love to break some bread with you all.

  • It's remote workers, new immigrants, people losing their homes and transplants moving into those states

  • Yea – I would think that RV life would/could grow old, especially for those with kids or those getting too old to move around. Perhaps what you've been describing is just a matter of supply and demand catching up. Things like this usually do balance out over time. Maybe I'll purchase some land and turn it into a campground. Watch out for BIG corporations, or the Chinese, to catch wind of this. They'll take over RV accommodations like they're doing with the farming industry. Where there's money – there's BIG business!
I thought I might be interested in this (RV) lifestyle, but now I don't think I am. Besides, today I just learned the (new) value of my home. If people start wanting to sell their RVs and move back in-to a home, they just might be surprised what their short-term romantic lifestyle cost them in the long-run. Anyway – Great Video! 😁👍.

  • Look up CheapRVliving only if you have the type of rig best suited to boondocking. BLM land that's open to "disbursed camping" is the way to go. A lot of Nomads go that route. I plan to go the Stealth Camping route as well building my own Step-van or box truck conversion. Go into town, spend overnight in a Walmart parking lot. Find a spigot, refill my water tanks, dump my black tank, load up on food and then head out for another 2/3 weeks. Solar panels/wind turbine/Lithium Batteries for power. Small wood burner for heat.

I'd mention a weird place I like to visit, but then again I don't want that place to get overrun.
